hosting is easy

This brief description will give you an idea of how things proceed.

  1. First, we'll work with you to choose an appropriate date. We are available 7 days a week and also offer afternoon/evening sessions if that suits your schedule.

  2. We'll provide advertising - About 3-4 weeks before the event, we'll bring you one or two posters to display, a bundle of flyers including prices as well as a sign-up sheet to book the appointments. We also post your day on our web site so everyone can know about your event.

  3. You sign up appointments for each of your clients or club members who would like to have photos of their pets. Kids, adults, families, groups, cats, dogs, rabbits, hedgehogs, birds, lizards, snakes and anything else is welcome on a Pet Portrait Day. The only consideration is that it must all fit on a 8' wide by 4' deep photo backdrop area. We give you some guidance for allocating the appointments.

  4. We'll need space for our studio - You provide the space - typically about 12x15 feet or larger. To minimize the distractions for pets, it's preferable that the area be separate from public spaces.

  5. On Pet Portrait Day we'll arrive to setup about an hour before the first appointment. This gives us plenty of time to build the studio backdrop, setup the lights and computer, test everything and ensure we are ready.

  6. For each client, we'll discuss what photos they're looking for, shoot 10-15 photos for each pet/pose combination, review the photos with the client and then take the order for prints. We typically allow about 20 minutes per client or 40 minutes if they have 3 more more pets and need different combinations of photos.

  7. We'll deliver the photos back to the shoot location at most 2 weeks following the shoot date.

Veterinarians, pet food retailers, doggy daycare operators,obedience clubs and other training facilities, rescue organizations, and many other businesses, groups and individuals have "had us over" to create photos of their pets and the pets of their clients and friends.

Our partners have used the occasion to raise funds for their favourite charity, to enhance their client relationships, as a fun day for their club or as a revenue generator.
